Nuclear medicine encompasses functional imaging of the organ systems including brain, urogenital system, and heart. It integrates functional imaging with anatomical imaging to provide valuable information to the treating cardiologist regarding the function of the heart. Combining computed tomography (CT) with positron emission tomography (PET) enables diagnosis, staging, treatment response assessment, and prognosis determination. Advancements in radio-pharmaceuticals, such as DOTATATE, PSMA, and amyloid imaging agents, have propelled the field into continuous evolution, presenting challenges for both experienced professionals and aspiring practitioners.
